Database for the Disabled
Co-Net CD, available through Trace Research and Development Center, contains both Macintosh and DOS versions of ABLEDATA, a database of over 17,000 products designed for people with disabilities. Information on assistive technologies includes more than 3,000 different types of devices, such as wheelchairs, telephone devices for hearing-impaired people, image magnifiers, and daily living aids. Also included is a “Text Document Library” of disability-related information, such as legal information regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act. $27, or $50 for a two-issue subscription.
